Here the music and spirit of the Soft Machine surfaces through the quartet's own unique sound world. The Delta Saxophone Quartet, formed in 1984, is currently the Ensemble in Residence at Kingston University for the period 2003-2008 the group aims to present British and international new music in a dynamic and thought provoking way. A sample of it's repertoire may include works by Gavin Bryars, Philip Glass, Steve Reich, Louis Andriessen or jazz composer Mike Westbrook to reworkings from the legendary 70's Jazz\/Rock group the Soft Machine.
