2012 Release. "Where I Am Now" is Area's debut album. Forward thinking as German techno, but Technicolor as UK Bass - tendrils of rich melody tangle themselves with angular rhythmic shifts, the music balances the impenetrability of the post-dubstep fray with shades of proto-house and ambient techno. Points of reference lie in the functional, cinematic experimentalism of Ricardo Villalobos, Actress, and Plaid. Area's lead-up EP received support from De: Bug and Groove Magazine and DJs like Paul Woolford, Danny Tenaglia, Francois K. and Laurent Garnier.
