Dan Savell - Velocity in Texture: Percussion for the Modern Dan [CD]

Composed and performed by professional percussionist and dance accompanist Daniel Savell, 'Velocity in Texture' is a must-have for teachers and students of modern dance. The percussion instruments heard in the album are of wide variety and all acoustic; there are no loops or synths used. 'Velocity in Texture is great for teaching all different styles/techniques of Modern Dance. Tracks are long, but not boring, and are great for longer center excersies or big movement phrases. There are even and odd meter tracks which give the teacher so much range when creating specific exercises. There is also a track great for improvisation and creative work assignments. This CD brings play, drive, breathe, energy and clarity to any dance class.' --Jeffrey Gerodias (Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, 8 years, Soloist '96-'04)
