Jan Shapiro - Back to Basics [CD]

This is Jan's latest CD singing jazz standards with her own unique arrangements. Backed by stellar musicians, Terri Lyne Carrington on drums, Tim Ray on piano, John Repucci on bass, and John Baboian, Shapiro floats through these songs with ease . Her intimate interpretation of Irving Berlin's standard 'Change Partners' makes you feel as if she is singing right to you. In fact, the whole CD sounds like she is singing directly to you! Jan has performed as a live performer for many years,as well as a studio vocalist in her early career.
