Pre-Order: Marek Mizera - Chopin Monice [CD]

Marek Mizera - Piano as a DialogueMarek Mizera brings to Chopin's music a rare combination of wisdom, restraint and profound sensitivity. Rejecting virtuoso display for it's own sake, his interpretations reveal the poetry between the notes: lucid phrasing, noble melancholy and an intimate, deeply considered dialogue with the listener.Alongside Chopin's Piano Concerto in E minor, Op. 11, this album presents the Nocturne in F-sharp minor, Op. 48 No. 2, and selected Waltzes, offering a portrait of an artist whose decades of experience as a pianist and distinguished pedagogue have shaped an unmistakably personal musical voice.Joined by a distinguished ensemble of string players, Mizera approaches these works with humility before the score and an exceptional ear for musical detail. The result is Chopin at once intimate, mature and profoundly expressive-music in which what happens between the sounds can be as eloquent as the sounds themselves.
