All Of Us Right Now! Is the ninth full-length from Seattle psych-rock mainstays The Purrs - a record charged with urgency, friction, and hard-won endurance. Formed in 2000 after filling their lineup via a classified ad in The Stranger, the band has spent 25 years refining a galvanized blend of Brit-pop shimmer, blues-soaked shoegaze, and nocturnal punk romanticism. "I've never been more depressed and angrier in my life," says bassist and lead vocalist Jima - and that tension fuels the record. All Of Us Right Now! #channels the disorientation of the COVID years and political fracture - chaos that fueled a creative stall, and the band clawed their way out of it. That hard-won return is all over this record. All four members contribute to the songwriting: guitarists Jason and Liz trade shimmer and abrasion while drummer Dusty drives with crisp restraint. Midway through, the band delivers a shoegaze-leaning take on Robyn Hitchcock's "Queen Elvis." Produced by Johnny Sangster (Mudhoney, The Posies) and mastered by Ed Brooks at Resonant, the album's haze is grounded in clarity.
