After a pair of self-titled EPs, the band - Hadji Bakara (electronic manipulations), Dan Boeckner (guitar, vocals), Spencer Krug (keyboards, vocals), Arlen Thompson (drums) - released Apologies to the Queen Mary to widespread acclaim in September, 2005. The album was recorded by Modest Mouse frontman Isaac Brock and engineer Chris Chandler at Audible Alchemy in Portland, Oregon.Apologies to the Queen Mary barrels headfirst and breathlessly through songs written during Wolf Parade's early years together as a band. The album's catchy, energetic urgency immediately established them as one of the defining forces of 2000s indie-rock.
